Press Coverage puts every MHSAA and MAIS football team in Mississippi on one scale, with 8-man on its own list. Each week we rank the Top 25, post the scores, project the coming week's games and follow the playoff picture in each MHSAA class.
2How the numbers work
Every team carries a rating, the Press Coverage Power Index (PCPI): how many points better than an average Mississippi team. The Top 25 is ranked by résumé, on who a team has beaten and where. The method page has the details.
3Who it's for
The parent in the bleachers, the grandmother three counties away, the coach, the athletic director, and anyone still arguing about Friday night on Saturday morning. Look up a school, check its numbers each week and send its page to your group chat.
